Az erdőrezervátum magterületén a Mecsek egyik legszebb bükköse és további régen kezelt, vagy felhagyott öreg gyertyános-tölgyes, ill. cseres-tölgyes található. Azonban tájidegen fafajok is jelen vannak, a területet egy műút (és egy vízválasztó gerinc) vágja ketté. Az erdőrezervátumban jelentős a turista-forgalom.

"One of the most beautiful beech forests can be found in the core area of the reserve and long ago managed or abandoned old hornbeam-oak woodland together with turkey oak-pedunculate oak woodland. However, non-native tree species are present; the area is divided in two by a road (and a watershed ridge). The tourist traffic is significant in the reserve."
